EpiPen Shortage Declared By FDA

"Your own data show that you received hundreds of complaints that your EpiPen products failed to operate during life-threatening emergencies, including some situations in which patients subsequently died", the agency said in the September letter.

The advocacy group FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education) put the pressure on the FDA, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Trump administration to take immediate action to address the national shortage of epinephrine in a statement issued May 7.

Consumer Reports' shoppers called drugstores around the country and confirmed spot shortages-but also uncovered some strategies to try if you can't fill a prescription for an EpiPen at your usual pharmacy.

There are other brands of epinephrine auto-injectors available. "Supply constraints" prevented adequate stock, according to the society's notice. The manufacturer blames supply and distribution issues. Mylan is expediting shipment to wholesalers upon receipt, and supply levels may vary across wholesalers and pharmacies.

Still, the company said it remained on track to launch several important products this year.

Patients with either commercial insurance or no insurance and a household income lower than $100,000 "can access AUVI-Q for $0 out of pocket", Williamson said.

Saudi Arabia wants nuclear bombs if Iran restarts its weapons programme
The nuclear deal reached in 2015 has only tackled the nuclear side in the Iranian practices, which was not the sole element that should have been watched, the statement said .

"Epinephrine is lifesaving, tightening the vessels to increase blood pressure, and opening constricted airways", explained Dr. Robert Glatter, an emergency physician from New York City's Lenox Hill Hospital.

"I am now without an epinephrine auto-injector", one patient said.

"It's relatively easy", Horovitz said.

If your EpiPen has expired, you should contact your primary care physician for a replacement as soon as possible.

"To self-inject is very easy", Horovitz noted.
