Iranian FM Zarif In Moscow To Meet Lavrov On Nuclear Deal

Richard PompeoTrump thanks North Korea for vow to dismantle nuclear site North Korea will open air space, invite media to cover dismantlement of nuclear test site Pompeo off to fast start as Trump's top diplomat MORE said on Sunday that it is "ludicrous" to suggest that recent tensions between Israel and Iran are a result of the USA withdrawal from the nuclear deal with Tehran.

"The Chinese side is ready to support close contact and coordination with all the sides to the agreement".

Earlier in the day, Rouhani said that Iran will remain in the 2015 nuclear deal if other parties to the agreement guarantee the country's interests.

The U.S. decision reignited the danger of economic crisis for Iran, which is now at the center of Tehran's diplomatic efforts.

In Beijing on Sunday, Zarif said he was hopeful of forging a "clear future design" for the deal to save it from collapse, after US President Donald Trump withdrew from it on Tuesday.

Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, who is in China to discuss the future of the nuclear deal in light of United States withdrawal, said JCPOA would stay in place as long as European Union guarantees that Iran's interests are not violated, Mehr news agency reported.

On Sunday US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Washington still wants to work with Europe to counter Iran's "malign behavior".

It will be boosted by another million pounds ($1.35 million) from the United Kingdom government, Wellcome said in a statement. The worldwide response to that crisis was criticised for moving too slowly, prompting an apology from the WHO.

Russia, China, Britain, Germany, and France also signed the accord and had urged Washington to remain a part of the deal, saying it is the best way to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

Mohammad Javad Zarif's diplomatic tour took him to Beijing at the weekend and will see him visit Brussels later in the week, as the global backers of the 2015 accord scrabble to save it.

"If the nuclear deal is to continue, the interests of the people of Iran must be assured", Zarif added.

A number of European companies, including Airbus, Siemens and Total, have established operations in Iran since the signing of the deal.

Analysts have suggested Russian Federation could benefit economically from the USA pull-out, as it is less exposed to the consequences of renewed sanctions than Europe. The sentiment was echoed on the streets.

A photo on the official Instagram site of supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei showed him reading a Farsi translation of Michael Wolff's scabrous account of the Trump White House, "The Fire and the Fury", quickly picking up more than 100,000 likes.

Shortly after Trump's announcement about the US withdrawal from the JCPOA, President Hassan Rouhani said Tehran would stay in the deal with other signatories if its interests are guaranteed.
