Embassy Preacher Slammed By Mitt Romney For Bigotry Against Mormons - And Jews

Dallas-based preacher Robert Jeffress told Fox News on Sunday night that he would be leading a prayer during the ceremony to open the new USA embassy in Israel, a controversial move that is guaranteed to stir violence in the occupied Palestinian lands.

Fox News anchor Shepard Smith said on Monday that the controversial views of Pastor Robert Jeffress about Judaism and gays is "well-documented".

"Israel represents many ideals in the Middle East that Christians hold dear and moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem is much more than a political move, it is about giving Israel the respect it deserves as a nation that is dedicated to democratic ideals", Nance said.

Jeffress responded in a tweet: "Historic Christianity has taught for 2,000 years that salvation is through faith in Christ alone".

Like Jeffress, Hagee is also anti-Catholic (he's called the Church "the great whore").

Jeffress is slated to give the opening prayer at Monday's ceremony. "Islam is a religion that promotes pedophilia, sex with children".

Game 1 in 60 seconds: Fans agree Rockets must stop Kevin Durant
The Rockets stretched the lead to 21-15 on a Clint Capela dunk after the Warriors were caught scrambling defensively. Golden State also had 18 fastbreak points as against Houston's paltry three-point output in their transition attack.

"The fact that people don't agree with that is fine, but it's wrong to call tens of millions of evangelical Christians like me bigoted because we follow the words and teachings of Jesus who said: 'I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life".

Shah told reporters that he hadn't heard Jeffress' remarks, but added, "Those aren't remarks the president believes".

The 2012 Republican presidential nominee and now Senate candidate Romney blasted the preacher on Twitter for his statements about Jews, Muslims as well as Mormons, who himself is Mormon. He preached at a private service for Trump and his family prior to his inauguration in January 2017. The newspaper, which obtained a taped transcript of the speech, said the evangelist's comments were made when the conference was not in session. "Many of those comments are either manufactured or ripped out of context".

Jeffress has a history of attacking Mitt Romney. "US embassy opening in Jerusalem will be covered live on [Fox News] & [Fox Business]", he wrote, advertising his favoured TV network. "The Apostle Paul, who was a Jew, said, 'I desire that my brethren Israel be saved.'".

Jeffress has been a staunch supporter of the president and is a member of Trump's evangelical advisory panel. Jeffress also stated he would "express gratitude for our tremendous President, Donald Trump".

"You can't make the blessing on every 'kushi" you see - in America you see one every five minutes, so you make it only on a person with a white father and mother, ' he said, according to the Times of Israel.
